Jan. 26.
Yesterday Morning a Sea-Officer coming through the Strand, who had been drinking freely, was very quarrelsome, and challenged many People to box, but at last coming up with two Sharpers, who thought him a proper Object for their Purpose, one of them join'd Battle with him, and the other held the Cloaths of both the Combatants, who was quite young, and seem'd fond of his lac'd Cloaths, and to the pretended Concern, or rather Satisfaction of his Companion, he found an Opportunity of carrying them off, to the real Grief of the Officer.
