ADVERTISING FUND FOR CHAMBER PLAN OF COMMITTEEMEN

Attracting of People To County Through Farm Periodicals Will Be Aim

The steering committee of the chamber of commerce annual campaign held its second meeting last night to budget the expenditures for the coming year and to make readjustments on some of the budget subscriptions made during the reorganization a year ago.

It has been decided to set aside the $25 annual due of the chamber of commerce for administration expense, leaving the budget subscriptions to take care of special activities coming up during the year and obligations already made.

The committee discussed at length the plan of raising an advertising fund in conjunction with the campaign. It was decided not to set a definite amount, but to use all the funds available for this purpose and to group the advertising in farm papers and other periodicals that will reach the class of people that would be attracted to this locality.

Only Chamber Advertising

It was brought out that the chamber of commerce was the only institution in the county sending out advertising matter, and that the funds for advertising purposes during the past year were far inadequate to do justice to this work.

The opportunities in Klamath county in the way of labor, dairying, potato growing, livestock, as well as tourists attractions, will be set forth in an advertising campaign that the committee feels will be effective in counter-balancing some of the adverse reports that have been sent out since the first of the year.

Those present at the meeting last night were: M. S. West, chairman; J. A. Gordon, W. O. Smith, R. E. Smith, M. P. Evans and R. G. Groesbeck.
