BOSTON. December 26.

By express to the Honourable Consul General of France, which arrived here last Tuesday evening, in three days from Philadelphia, we are favoured with a paper of the 21st instant, from which the following is an extract.

His Most Christian Majesty's frigate Danae is arrived in our river from Rochfort, which she left the 6th of November. We hear she brings an account that the negotiations for a peace are so far advanced as to admit of little doubt of that desirable event shortly taking place. It is said the British minister at Paris had been instructed to treat with the Deputies of the United States of America, together with the Deputies of the other belligerent powers, on this important subject: As the dispatches are not yet received, we do not pretend to give this news as authentic.
