Full Text

Reported Elopement.—The Wall street circles have been thrown into a wonderful excitement, we understand, by the reported elopement of Mr. Charles Jones, a well known broker of No. 30 Wall street, whom it is confidently stated on change, has left his own wife and three children, taking the wife of his clerk, leaving her two children behind, and embarking on board a packet, and sailed for Europe, omitting to make good some of his accounts with the Board—so say the brokers—and common fame—but whether Mr. Jones, has actually taken the lady of his clerk on a pleasure excursion across the Atlantic, or whether he merely migrated to some other place, we are not by him advised.—N. Y. Trans.
