FALLON TO FURNISH FRESH CANTALOUPES

Fresh cantaloupes and watermelons from the Fallon district will soon be available to Nevada people, owing to refrigerator service that is to be installed to Fallon.

Approximately 200 acres have been planted in cantaloupes in the Lahontan valley this year, and a supply more than enough for the needs of Nevada is expected this year. It is also stated that in addition to supplying Nevada's needs, the Fallon farmers anticipate shipping twenty or thirty carloads to Chicago and eastern cities. Every effort will be made to introduce the Nevada cantaloupe to the eastern market.

Refrigerator cars will be loaded at Fallon on Wednesday and Friday afternoons, insuring the market a fresh supply of melons from that city on Thursday and Saturday mornings.
