Kidnapping Canines

NATCHEZ, Miss. - (CNS)- Kidnapping of two famous hounds, mutilation and theft of portions of their tails are charges which Chas. Davis Sr. and Charles Davis Jr. and Will Bird must face here soon. The case involves the theft of two nationally known foxhunting hounds, "Ring" and "Old White Man," who were alleged to have been stolen by the three men from the dogs' owners.

It is claimed that during the period that "Old White Man" and Ring were kidnapped that the tips of their tails were cut off and buried under the doorstep of one of the men with a view to keeping the dogs from running away to their owners and that through other ritualistic ceremonies the hounds "lost their pride."
