Miss Arkansas State—Miss Jewel Kendall of Augusta will reign as "Miss Arkansas State" during the colorful national homecoming activities and football game here at AM&N college Saturday. Miss Kendall is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Kendall of Augusta and is a member of the senior class. A major in music, she is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta sorority, student government body and the AM&N college dance group. The annual homecoming fest celebration got underway Monday with a program in college chapel sponsored by the student government. Today (Friday) Alumni representatives from all over will hold their historical chapel exercise with yells and speeches. Friday night the annual Stunt night program will be held in chapel at 8. Following the affair, a bon fire will glow on the practice field. High on the list of activities this week-end will be the first Letter "A" club banquet in the home economics building. Former football and basketball greats will come back to their Alma Mater and review history across the table. Later in the night they will hear President Lawrence A. Davis and view a film produced by Geleve Grice during the past ten years.
Saturday morning eight snappy bands supported by some twenty-five beautiful floats will parade thru the heart of the downtown district at 10. At 12:45 the bands will assemble in the stadium and present pre-game stunts and pranks. Following this demonstration "Miss Arkansas State" will be crowned along with the winner of the "Miss Alumni Contest". Mrs. Tilman C. Cothran and Mrs. Geleve Grice are contestants for the high honors.
Following the Langston - State game an Alumni banquet will be held in the student union bldg followed by a Victory Dance in the gymnasium at 9:00.
