Norfolk, Sept. 24.

ROBBERY.

It will be seen by an advertisement in this day's Beacon, that a Mr. William Morcock was knocked down in the street last night, a little after 9 o'clock, by a well-dressed man, as he was proceeding from the Steam-Boat Wharf to D. Ford's Gardens. He was robbed of his Pocket Book, containing Ten Thousand Dollars, in South-Carolina Notes. We feel much for the loss of Mr. Morcock, but more that our Borough should be infested with such ruffians, and hope that our Police will aid in the means of detecting the robber.
