Movement Sweeps Country

There is a growing conviction that the Townsend Plan offers the only way out of the depression. Evidence of this is found in the increasing demand made upon National Headquarters for authorized speakers. This demand comes from administrators of county and state fairs; from business organizations; from service clubs-such as Rotary and Kiwanis: from labor unions, and from communities that have been hard hit by the depression. America has been groping to find the path that will lead to prosperity. It has.not been found in the panaceas offered by the alphabetical agencies. So the people are turning to something that is tangible. The idea of a recovery plan that will pay as it goes is gaining favor. That kind of recovery plan is exactly what is offered by Dr. Townsend. This is the reason for the multiplicity of requests for Townsend speakers that have been received from Maine to California and from Florida to the Pacific Northwest.—Townsend National Weekly.
