YOUR HOME
BY MARY REYNOLDS

There's a lot of personality in curtains. There are green organdie
curtains as cool and crisp as a lettuce leaf, and warm red curtains as
cheerful as a glowing fire. You can make a room practically de-
pression-proof by choosing thrifty ones.

Take kitchen curtains, for instance. If you spend much time in
your kitchen, buy or make curtains that will help to make it one of
the really attractive rooms in your house. There are some suggestions.

To hide an undesirable view, use
one of these popular cottage sets.
They come now in bright plaid
marquisette, tied back by ruffled
bands or ribbon bows.

Here's a sophisticated new style
which you can make yourself of
plain voile or organdie, tied in the
center with a crisp black taffeta
bow.

There are such delightful cur-
tain edgings that you can buy now
—snow ball edging, tasseled fringes,
dancing rows of cotton or wood
balls, edgings like rows of flower
petals.

Double windows, framed by cur-
tains like these, bring the outdoors
right inside. A glass vase or flower
pot placed on a bracket between
the windows where it catches the
sun in its ruby or emerald or am-
ber depths will shower cheerful
sparks of color into your kitchen.
