Of BUONAPARTE AGAIN.
We learn that Mustapha Pacha has been totally defeated near Aboukir. Buonaparte, hearing of the capture of that city, collected his troops to retake it, which he did, making dreadful slaughter of the 6000 Turks who defended it, and capturing the Pacha, who was wounded in the arm.
A Tartan arrived yesterday from the English consul at Aleppo. The Grand Vizier's army was still three days march from Aleppo, and 17 days journey from Aboukir. The retaking of that city by the French has caused great sensations in Syria.
The fortress of Acre is considered as the bulwark of Syria and is provisioned and supplied. The Greeks and Copts in Egypt still side with Buonaparte.
