To Doctors Currie and Dewees, attending Physicians at the Encampment, Masters's Place:—

GENTLEMEN,

We feel ourselves constrained to make a public as well as a private acknowledgement to you, for your humane, steady and unexpectedly gratuitous services in attending the distressed objects under our care, who were not only afflicted with that bitter scourge, poverty, but also disease; many of whom must inevitably have fallen victims to the latter, had it not been for your philanthropy and judicious prescriptions. An expectation of the most ample pecuniary reward, could not have prompted you to a more regular and unremitting attention. But to minds so susceptible as yours, a consciousness of having alleviated the miseries, and been instrumental in preserving the lives of many of your fellow citizens, is the best possible retribution for such meritorious services.

That your lives may be long and prosperous is the sincere wish of your real friends.

John Inkeep,

Jonah Robinson,

Committee.
