LONDON, Sept. 20.

Extract of a Letter from on board the Neptune, Capt. Playters, from Jamaica, dated Cowes, Sept. 16.

We put in here by contrary Winds, after 10 Weeks Passage; but here met with most violent and tempestuous Weather, ever since we left Company with the Prince William, Capt. Reynolds: We came thro' the Gulph together; but between the Isle of Pines and Cape Anthony, met with a Spanish Man of War, and a Dutch Ship whom they had taken, and an English Brig. belonging to Bristol, which they had also took, and a Sloop of their own, who brought us to, and came aboard, broke open our Main Hatch, carried away a Piece or Two of Fustick, robbed the People of their Cloaths. and the Master was a Sufferer of upwards of 20l. Value: they broke open several Boxes of Presents, and then left us; but the 2d Day came aboard again, and used us worse than before.
