Captain Charles Pelly, who arrived at Charleston, South-Carolina, on the 3d ult. in 22 days from St. Christopher's, made oath before the Governor of that state, that on the 3d or 4th of March, at St. Eustatia, he was informed by the mate of an English ship from London, that about 30 leagues to the eastward of Barbadoes, they met three Algerine vessels, consisting of one ship of 22 guns, the other of 14, and one xebec of 12 guns; and that they were told by the Algerines, they were cruising for American vessels.
