The State 4-H Corn Show will be held in connection with the North Florida Fair, Tallahassee. The fair opens Tuesday, 23 and will close Saturday, October 27.
The Corn Show terminates supervised corn projects grown by 4-H boys, under the direction of 4-H club agents. The counties which are expected to take part in the annual show are Jackson, Gadsden, Madison, Hamilton, Columbia, Jefferson, Marion, Alachua, Sumter, and the host county, Leon.
Limitations are made to extent that individuals may enter 2 10 ear exhibits. Counties will be held to 25 entries. Any exhibit. either by the county, or individual must be creditable in order to receive an award. Individual exhibits will be awarded by the Danish system. The actual award will be determined by the basis of money available.
County exhibits will be awarded by the Danish system, and will be based on the 10 best exhibits from the county. The best individual exhibit; sweepstakes will receive $15. The second best individual will get $10.
Agent R. H. Stephens states that 4-H exhibits will naturally show well as the county corn show will eliminate poor entries and only top entries will be taken to the State show.
Gadsden County 4-H Clubs along with other clubs in the area will take part in the North Florida Fair. An invitation is extended to members of the clubs, and farm families to attend.
