NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION
Those who say New Year resolutions are made only to be broken are not entirely correct. If we make ten resolutions to do better during the coming year and break nine of them we are still one-tenth better than we were.
Among the several resolutions we intend to make this year for 1936 are the following two:
1. We resolve to spread no more rumors.
2. We resolve to believe no more rumors.
The past year has been one marked with many rumors, most of them untrue, none of them doing our community any good. Folks get all upset and worried about something they hear; fearfully they repeat it to somebody else and so it goes the rounds. When finally run down to earth, it is found there was really nothing to it.
And so, to relieve the minds of others and keep them and ourselves from worrying about things that will never happen, we make the above resolutions.
When we tell anything or believe anything, in 1936, it will be when, after a thorough investigation at the proper source, we are convinced that it is true. Otherwise we are going to keep our ears and mouth shut and we believe we will enjoy life more during the coming year.
