Full Text

VIENNA, Feb. 27. Letters from the Imperial army in Croatia, mention that after having taken the fort of Drenick the troops were stationed on Korona, near the fort, with their right wing extended to the foot of the mountains Plislim za, by which means the roads and passes to Esseg are opened.

That during the attack of Drenick a detachment was sent to summon the Turks posted at Srurlich to surrender. They invited the Commanding Officer to approach within fifty paces on parole, when they made a brisk fire on the detachment as to kill fifty men, which so enraged the Imperials, that they put the whole Turkish garrison to death.

That the Imperial troops had made an unsuccessful attempt on Dubitza, in which they suffered a loss of eighty-two killed, 349 wounded.

The emigrations of Turkish families into the Austrian territories, with their cattle and effects, were very frequent, and the Turkish troops had endeavored in vain to prevent them.

By advices from Slavonia of the 11th inst. it appears that two boats belonging to the Turks had been taken or sunk in the Save.
