Mexico.-- The Rio Grande Sentinel of the 2d instant, gives the following extract from its correspondent at San Luis Potosi It furnishes a rather gloomy picture of Mexico--

"…The news from Mexico is gloomy. Many of the members of the House, who were decided to vote for the reduction in the tariff, and to abolish the prohibitions, it is stated, will now vote against the bill The Cabinet stated to Congress that there were the only resources it could depend upon. Alas! many evils do I fear from the conduct of the legislators! The country is on the verge of a precipice, and needs only a slight breath to sink it completely, without a hope of salvation."
