Three Mules Killed and Man Riding One Hurt.
Magnolia. Aug. 15.-During a thunder storm this evening about 6 o'clock Mose Johnson. colored. teamster for J. G. Stokes. engaged in the lumber business, was struck by lightning and badly injured. The team, three mules, he was driving, were instantly killed by the same bolt. How Johnson escaped death is a mystery, as he was riding one of the mules. Johnson has regained consciousness. but is suffering considerably. An eyewitness says all three mules fell dead at the same second. Mr. Stokes says he cannot replace the mules for less than $500.
