Wallpaper Is
Fresh In Color

New fashions in wallpapers are beautifully vital.

Colors are clear and fresh. There are more light backgrounds with two or more pastel colors brought into focus by the addition of a sharp accent color, used sparingly.

Textures show an international flavor. Some look like finely woven grass cloths; others, such as an Oriental Shoji screen effect, have a see-through quality; while still others give a woven wood effect or simulate silk-like weaves of the Far East.

Scenic-type wallpapers have a wider range of subjects among them, Oriental effects, French Provincial cafe scenes, hunting scenes, seascapes, Pennsylvania Dutch and New England scenes. All are widely spaced on light backgrounds.

Florals have a livelier, more imaginative look than in the past.

Stripes in varying widths, often in one color and white or tone-on-tone, make beautiful backgrounds for pictures and are so versatile they can be used with modern or traditional furnishings.

Small all-over wallpaper patterns, such as geometrics or neatly-spaced flowers and fruits, are liked.
