More Than 20 Percent of Year's Total Came Then: No Permits Were Issued in Either August or December
New building enterprises in Henderson for 1931 amounted to a total of $48,800 in 13 permits, according to statistics announced today by Fire Chief L. T. Shepherd. The figures compare with $89,610 for 1930 in 57 building permits. But the figures do not include the residential and industrial development that was carried out beyond the city limits, where there may have been about as much as within the restricted city limits.
March was the biggest month of the year, with total building of $10,650 in seven permits, or more than 20 percent of the total for the year as a whole. There were only two months—August and December—when there were no permits of any kind.
