The latter complained of many Grievances, respecting the Administration of Baptism and the Lord's Supper, as also concerning Marriages and Burials, and that their Ministers were interrupted in the Exercise of their Functions, particularly when instructing Catechumens:
To obtain Redress of which, they applied at last to the King of Prussia, as Hereditary Protector of the Town of Erfurt, who has taken Cognizance of their Complaints, and effectually redressed their Grievances, by giving the three Parties a Rule for their future Conduct towards each other, agreeable to the Spirit of the Gospel and the Laws of the Country.
