Full Text
Do our property owners know that they are binding down, as with chains, our lovely little city? The rents, both of business and dwelling houses, are enormous, exorbitant to the last degree. We have heard of ten or twelve business men of the best class, who desired to locate here, but were driven off by the high rents. 'Tis a miserable, short-sighted policy. Lower your rents; induce good business men to settle here, and, our word for it, your property will so increase in value that you will get more than if you doubled your present high rents. Try it.
