Full Text

The new postage is now in force, and letters cost but three cents to any part of the U. S. (except California) if prepaid. We hope everybody will not quit their business and go to writing letters.

There is no doubt but that a great many more will be written than ever before—there will be no excuse now for not hearing from your friends in every part of the country, every week; but sheer laziness.

We expect a great many more new subscribers to the Telegraph, will be another result: because the paper will be carried free of postage to every post office in the county.

We expect too, that a great many of our subscribers will pay up now, because the paper comes so much cheaper to them.

We hope our distant subscribers, say in Wheatland, Geneva, Walworth, and that region, will sit down and write a letter enclosing a bill, and forward it to us without delay. We shall be glad to hear from you, and will run the risk of Uncle Sam's cart.

Yours, truly
