Plymouth, Eng., Feb. 17, 1840.-An American diver, named Scott, has been astonishing some of the people in this neighborhood by his extraordinary feats. having leapt into the water twice (on different occasions) from a very elevated position, on board the San Josef, bearing the flag of the Admiral Superintendant of the dock-yard. On the first occasion, he descended from the top sail yard-arm, height of about 120 feet; and on the second, from the top-gallant yard, a height of about 190 feet. Even at this inclement season, it is surprising to see the number of persons assembled to witness the extraordinary performance.
