The following Instructions have been issued
GEORGE R. In d bitOW
WHEREAS by an Act passed in the present
Session of Parliament, entitled, "An Act to permit
the importation of Goods and Commodities from
Countries in America, belonging to any Foreign Eu-
ropean Sovereign, or State, in Neutral Ships until
the 29th day of September, One Thousand Eight
Hundred and One," We are authorized to grant
Licences for the Importation into this Kingdom
from any Country in America, belonging to
any Foreign European Sovereign or State, any
Goods or Commodities of the Growth or Pro-
duce, whether manufactured or otherwise, of
any such Country not prohibited to be used or
consumed in this Kingdom, under certain Re-
strictions, in any ship or vessel, belonging to any
State in Amity with us: We are therefore gra-
ciously pleased to direct, that Neutral Ships
coming with such Cargoes, under the Protection
of our Special Licences, granted under the Au-
thority of the said Act, shall not be interrupted
in their Voyages by our Cruizers, and Private
Ships of War, upon producing the Licences so
granted; and if they should be brought into
our Ports for Adjudication, they shall be forthwith
liberated, by our Courts of Admiralty, upon
its being shewn that the Claimants have ob-
tained such Licences, and have conformed to
the Regulations prescribed therein.
