The Monthly Meeting In the Far West.-We see from the St. Louis Advocate, the Rev. Mr. Leftwich, the model pastor of St. Josephs, Missouri, reports well of the monthly meeting in his charge. He says: It was a gratifying success; it was well attended; eight were baptized, twenty-five received into the Church according to the " new formula," and all the regular order of business taken up and attended to as far as could be done in one meeting. Hope it will never be called " monthly meetings." Sixty-eight have joined the Church during the year, and all the material interests of the Church well attended to by the officers. No Church can doubt the wisdom of this provision of the General Conference that will give it a fair trial. It promises much good and contains the elements of vast usefulness.
