On Monday Evening last two Men, one named Young Flynt, the other John Welman, belonging to Chelsea, went from Martin's Tavern in Lynn, and got into a Canoe to return home; the Canoe accidentally overset, when both of them held to it, and cry'd for help; when great numbers of Persons assembled, and got four Boats, but notwithstanding they were not farther off than a Stone's throw, they could not be discovered, it being dark; the two men held to the Canoe and saw the People on the shore with Lanthorns; and called them by Name: They continued in this situation near two Hours, when their strength failing them, they both sunk and were drowned. Mr. Flynt has left a Widow and 5 Children: The other Person was a Batchelor.

Many people assembled with four boats and lanterns, but could not find them in the dark despite being close. They called out by name but after nearly two hours, their strength failed and they sank.
