Rotarian for a month - Chee Hermann, Student Body President of Juneau High School was made a temporary member of the Rotary Club this noon at the regular weekly luncheon meeting of the service organization.
Young Chee was read into temporary membership by Howard D. Stabler, first President of the Juneau club. After 30 days, Chee will relinquish his membership to some other 'boy from the school. The student members at the end of the school year will then put on one program for Rotarians, demonstrating at the time what they have learned of the ideals of Rotary International.
After becoming a member, Chee addressed the club in a brief talk, in which he thanked Rotarians on behalf of the youth of Juneau for the Soap Box Derby and other contests the club has staged here to interest the city's younger generation.
It was announced at the meeting that Ernest Parsons and C. H. Metcalfe have resigned their posts as directors of the club, due to their planned absence from the city. In their places, President Rod Darnell appointed Joe Flakne and Stan Gruimmett.
