Rev. Rinehart Enters Suit, Charging Malicious Libel Against Church Elder:
(Staff Special.)
Wellsville, July 16.--Rev. E. W. Rinehart, formerly pastor of the Disciple church at Salineville, has entered a sensational suit before Justice J. W. Reilly at Wellsville. The former pastor charges Rodney Griffith, a miner, of Salineville, one of the official board of the Disciple church, and his wife, with malicious libel.
The charge was filed Wednesday morning. The suit charges Griffith and his wife with circulating a letter bearing on the actions of Rev. Rinehart and his wife prior to their marriage.
Rev. Rinehart took charge of the church in that city about two years ago and continued until last May and the congregation voted to have him retained, but the official board refused to pay his salary. In consequence he left the pulpit and took up the practice of medicine.
