It would be very satisfactory to the public, if he would declare, through some newspaper, frankly, his sentiments upon that subject.
The reason of our selecting Mr. B. on this occasion, is plainly this, that we have heard (perhaps erroneously) that Mr. Crawford was his man. I need hardly say, how unpleasant and hopeless would be the condition of New-Hampshire, if her Representatives should be placed in a situation to assist in giving a Chief Magistrate to this Nation, and one or more of them should give a vote, (perhaps the casting vote) for the very man, of all others, that this State wishes should never be honored by the national chair.
