The Salisbury, Blandford, and Two other Coaches, were lately robb'd near Stockwell, by a single Highwayman, about 20 Years of Age, well mounted, by which he got above 20 l. In one of the Coaches was a Clergyman, and his Maid Servant, very well dressed, who deliver'd to the Fellow about 3 l. but she told him, she was a poor Servant, and that it was all she was worth; which the Highwayman said he was sure was a Lie, in both Articles, from her Appearance; but the Coachman confirming what she said to be true, he return'd her the Money, saying her Master should pay for it; and accordingly oblig'd the Parson to stand a Search, by which he found his Watch, Rings, and some Money, that were conceal'd before.
