GREENE CO. FAIR.
The officers of our Fair Association are in earnest. And are determined to make the coming Fair a success. Their efforts are meeting with a hearty response from the farmers and mechanics of the county, not only from all parts of the county, but from neighboring counties, and even from a distance. We hear words of cheer and promises of co-operation. From all indications the coming Fair will show a much finer display, and will be better attended than any previous one. To prepare for the public demand the Association is now having erected an extension of the stables on the grounds by the addition of twenty stalls. Also show-cases are being made for the protection of such articles as will not bear handling. Other needed improvements including a stand for the Board will be erected before the Fair. The Fair has been worth thousands of dollars to the County and we are glad to see our citizens generally taking a lively interest in the enterprise. The Fair season is the time when Greeneville is gayest. A season of enjoyment for old and young. With the expectation that at the coming Fair our hotels and boarding houses will be full of visitors from a distance, every effort should be made to the end that this Fair may be made a more pleasant occasion than any former one.
