BROCKTON
MESSIAH BAPTIST CHURCH
Rev. Kenneth A. Bowen, Pastor

Sunday morning the pastor was away to preach at the Third Baptist Church in Springfield.
The pulpit was well filled with the Rev. Julius Mitchell from Lawrence, Mass.

Saturday, July 26, the Missionary Society, Mrs. Fannie Spicely, president, sponsored a Lawn Party on the beautiful grounds of Mrs. Martha Randolph in East Bridgewater Mass. It was well attended and everyone had a grand time.
There were several tables of fine things for sale, horseback riding and food galore.

The Pastor officiated at the funeral Saturday of Mrs. Evelyn Martha Marrow Pina. She was buried from the Anderton Funeral Home in Whitman and interned there also.

Sunday morning the Mortgage Committee began their final drive to end the mortgage and burn it in October. We have every reason to believe that we will be mortgage free at that time.
