Extract of a letter from a respectable mercantile house in London, to their correspondent in this city, dated May 31.

A captain Hopkins, of Boston, just arrived from Cadiz, has this moment reported to me, that he saw at that port a letter from Mr. Lear, to Mr. Montgomery at Alicant, dated the 8th inst. and by him transmitted to Mr. Yznardi, announcing that the Algerines were fitting out all their cruisers, and doubtless their object and intention was to commence hostilities against the Americans....Philadelphia Gaz.
