"A mandament from the bishop of Ottawa was read in all the Roman Catholic churches at Ottawa, Ont., Sunday, denouncing the Knights of Labor, Telegraph Operators' Union and all secret societies. M. Fabre, bishop of Montreal, it is stated, will positively issue a mandament against the Knights of Labor soon."
At the same time the Order is growing mighty in Canada, and the French Canadians will probably do what the Irish land leaguers did-convert the clergy.
