HAS NARROW ESCAPE FROM SERIOUS INJURY

D. H. Detchon, editor of the Western Farmer's Review, narrowly escaped severe injury this morning at Tenth and Idaho streets, when a runaway horse came near running him down. Mr. Detchon, while crossing Tenth street, had stopped to let a street car go by and was stepping back so as not to be struck by the fender, when the animal, coming full speed, was almost upon him. He swung around and the horse also swerved a little and just missed him, but he was struck by the buggy and sustained an injury of his right leg. The horse, driven by a youth, was forced upon the sidewalk and stopped just in time to prevent going through a window in the Empire building.
