LEVY COURT.
The Election of County Constables Still in Progress.
Levy Court met in regular session at their room in the Court House, this morning, at 10.15 o'clock with President Shallcross in the chair. Immediately after the reading of the minutes Mr. Taylor moved that the court take a recess, to allow the Democratic members to complete their caucus of nominations for bridge-tenders and county constables, which motion prevailed.
The caucussing members remained out until 12.10, when they entered the court room, the court immediately adjourning until this afternoon at 2 o'clock.
The committee appointed some time ago to consult with a similar committee from the Levy Court of Kent county to determine on the site of a bridge over Duck creek and the straightening of the dividing line will visit that locality on Monday and adjust matters.
Levy Court convened at 2.20 and upon the motion of Mr. Taylor proceeded at once to the election of county officers, bridge tenders and constables, the president appointing Messrs. Silver and Rothwell tellers.
Israel H. Fols and Robert Sutton and Lewis E. Elliot were elected jail commissioners.
The following county constables were elected:
Brandywine—Jacob Hanby.
Wilmington—Thomas Weir, George C. Ward, Peter Springer.
Christiana—Charles M. Newlin.
Mill Creek—Joseph Barker, Alfred Williamson.
The nominations were all made by Mr. Taylor and will in all probability consume the whole afternoon.
