A candy sale given by the kindergarten children last Tuesday was well attended by the rest of the school. They are planning to buy some band suits with the profits.
One section of the first grade, under the supervision of Miss Iva Tilden, is planning to entertain Miss Dalma Hanson's first grade at a Hallowe'en party.
The second grade pupils are mixing colors and painting sheets of paper to be used in art work.
The members of the third grade have made a tepee of cloth and sticks. The other third grade is studying local geography; they have made a map of Southeastern Alaska and have printed upon it the names of the principal towns.
Robert Carothers, who hails from Seattle, has been added to the roll of the fourth grade. Torrain Johnson has been absent from school for the past week because of whooping cough.
The fifth grade children are enjoying Kipling's "Jungle Book;" they are now reading "Rikki-Tikki-Tavi."
Clayton Livesay, formerly of San Francisco, recently entered the sixth grade.
The seventh grade pupils are making leaf designs; they are also studying Alaskan music.
The seventh and eighth grades have started on their essays for the contest sponsored by the Juneau Women's Club.
