Noble Dog.

Capt. Barrow, of the steamer Telegraph on Lake Michigan, had his boat run down by a schooner, during a stormy night, about the first of the month. He safely embarked all his passengers in the life-boat: soon after which his steamer sunk under him. While he was struggling with the raging billows his Newfoundland dog kept swimming close by his side, frequently placing his nose under the chin of his master to keep his head above water, and continued to do so until picked up by the schooner's boat. Not a life was lost by the fearful accident.
