CITY COUNCIL.—The regular semi-monthly meeting of the City Council will be held to-night. The Finance Committee agreed last night to recommend to Council to-night the appropriation of $500 for street improvements during the remainder of the fiscal year ending the 31st of May. This additional appropriation of $500 is intended to cover the expense incurred in the repairing of Royal street from Cameron to King, and the protection of the Gibbon street sewer, which work was not provided for in the last appropriation bill. The bill appropriating $1,200 in addition to the $1,500 previously appropriated for the building of a new engine house for the Columbia Steam Fire Company will also come up for consideration in the Board of Aldermen.
