A Little Baby's Dangerous Experience.
Hugh Point Dispatch. 28th

A sad and exciting accident occurred this afternoon on Main street. Mrs. Charles Hendrix was down the street with her children, the youngest being in the carriage. She stopped in front of one of the stores to go in, forgetting to lock her carriage, which ran off the sidewalk in front of a wagon drawn by a mule. The wheel of the carriage got entangled with the wagon; the mule which became frightened, ran down the street as far as the railroad crossing, smashing the carriage and throwing the baby out. A physician was summoned at once to give aid to the little one. It is miraculous how it escaped being killed. There were serious bruises on the child, but it is thought not to be fatally injured.
