New Group of Islands.- A Sidney paper contains the following particulars respecting a group of islands discovered by Capt. Harwood, of the Hashmy, whaler, extracted from the log of that ship:

"In coming down from Japan, fell in with a group of islands not laid down in the charts, in lat. 5 45 N. and 152 35 E. long. about 50 miles N. W. of Young William's islands. The tops of the trees on the islands were visible a considerable distance at sea. I had the crew of the Hashmy on them, refreshing, who were treated with great kindness by the natives. The islands are very thickly inhabited -with plenty of cocoa nuts, vegetables, and such refreshments as are necessary for crews coming from Japan with the scurvy.
