DOMESTIC OCCURRENCES.

PORTLAND, July 19.

Yesterday arrived here a gentleman from Newbury-port, who left there Wednesday—he informs that the day before he left there, a vessel arrived there from Europe, after a short passage; coming down channel, he passed the English Fleet, having four ships of the line in tow: a little time after he passed the French Fleet, superior in number. Same day arrived there a brig from Martinico, Captain Poor, who left there admiral Jervis—Jervis had received the account of the French fleet's arrival and capture of Guadaloupe, and was under great apprehensions of them, as his ships were thinly manned, and Capt. Poor informs, that 70 died in a day on board the fleet.
