New York, Oct. 4.-In the Episcopal convocation Rev. Dr. Huntington moved to substitute for "The order how the Psalter is appointed to be read," and for "The order how the rest of the Holy Scripture is appointed to be read," the general order concerning the services of the church, including an enlarged table of proper psalms and a table of selections of psalms. The motion was adopted.

The second change was to substitute in place of the first rubric in the order for daily morning prayer the following: The minister shall always begin the morning prayer by reading certain sentences of Scripture.

On the day when the holy communion is immediately to follow the minister may, at his discretion, pass from the sentences to the Lord's Prayer, first pronouncing:

"The Lord be with you."

Answer-And with thy spirit

Minister-Let us pray.

This change was also approved. The third change approved was made in the opening sentence in the order for daily morning prayer. Changes were also made in the daily evening prayer, and in the rubric after the prayer for the president of the United States in the order for daily morning prayer. The prayer to be used at meetings of conventions was transferred to a place immediately after the prayer for congress. In the ceremony of confirmation it was ordered that the priest shall present to the bishop those who are about to be confirmed, saying: "Reverend father in God, I present unto you these children (or these persons) to receive the laying on of hands."

The first rubric after the bonum est confiteri in the order for daily evening prayer was ordered omitted, as was also the first rubric after the benedicite anima mea. The proposed relegation of the Nicene Creed to certain occasions only, caused considerable discussion. Dr. Huntington was in favor of its use as at present. In the midst of the discussion the convention adjourned.

At the meeting of the house of bishops, Bishop Neely, of Maine, was appointed to assist Bishop Williams in his duties as presiding officer.

The bishops adopted the first three changes of the prayer book in concurrence with the house of deputies, and also adopted the remaining fifteen changes.
