WAYMAN A.M.E.

The week preceding Sunday, Sept. 9, our minister, Rev. Marlin J. Hendrieth, was attending the Chicago Annual Conference of the A.M.E. Church, meeting in St. Paul. At this conference pastors made their annual reports before Bishop Joseph Gomez, the presiding bishop over this and four other conferences. From all reports from both laymen and ministers this was a great conference. St. James A.M.E. Church was host to this conference and Rev. Mordeau Williams, host pastor.

Our youth choir under the direction of Mrs. Hallie B. Hendrieth was presented Friday evening at the conference, Mr. Ralph Primm the accompanist. Mrs. Hallie B. Hendrieth conducted the Annual Pageant for the Missionary Department.

Thursday evening Waymanite Senior Choir was presented under the direction of Mr. Ralph C. Primm. Our minister was present at all of the services and gave assistance whenever Wayman appeared. As pastor and churchman our minister was alert in performances throughout the entire 80th session. He deserves great commendation for his leadership.

Sunday afternoon when the Annual Conference assembled in the St. Paul Auditorium of St. Paul, Minn., to climax the 80th Session our Waymanite Senior Choir was there to sing with St. James' Choir of St. Paul. Our bishop delivered a great sermon.

Thank God and our bishop for returning our minister to Wayman Church for the 9th year. We are in the midst of building a new church which is greatly needed in this northside community of Minneapolis. We believe Rev. Marlin J. Hendrieth is the man for this great undertaking.
