Easy-Life Brings Hard Retribution

Three youths who held up an Eastside bakery for "easy living" found out last week that ill-gotten gains can bring a "hard retribution."

Recorders Judge George Murphy meted out terms to Lester Smith, 20, 6174 Sheridan, one to 15 years at Jackson State prison; Henry Ford, Jr., 18, 664 Mack, 10 months to 15 years, and William Perry, 17, 2605 St. Antoine, a three-year probation with first 60 days served in jail.

The trio pleaded guilty to holding-up Sam Farris in his bakery at 1570 E. Congress and robbing him of $1,359.
