Ad Claims on Rinso To be Toned Down

As a result of action by the Federal Trade Commission, Lever Brothers Co. has promised to stop advertising that anyone using their product Rinso will "never" have red or rough hands; that it will in every instance make clothes at least five shades whiter or that colors "never" fade when washed with it; that no other soap will produce the degree or kind of whiteness attained by Rinso or will do as good or quick a job.

Lever Brothers also is going to stop saying that makers of 33 washing machines have recommended the effectiveness of Rinso "above all others".
