HAGUE, March 2.

A Minister from the King of Prussia presented, the 24th of last Month, a Memorial respecting his Pretensions to the Towns of Wesel, Emmerick, Osnabruck, Rees, and Roerick, in the Dutchy of Cleves, under the Dominion of this Republick. These Pretensions, as well as those of the Elector Palatine to a like Claim, are at least a Century past, and the Sum demanded is stated at 4,141,667 Florins of Holland.

This is not the first Time of making the above Demand; the Prussian Minister having in 1766 presented a Memorial on the same Subject, and another in 1770. The States General gave an Answer to it in 1771, and this now presented is the Reply. The Prussian Minister makes the strongest Instances for Payment, giving for a Reason the Calamities occasioned by War. He has offered to the States General to leave it to Arbitration, if their High Mightinesses should choose rather a direct Accommodation.
