Full Text

Hacks, &c.—The last act of our City Councils relating to hacks, cabs, &c., requires owners of such vehicles to have the number painted upon the front and sides of the lamps; and if there be no lamps then on the sides of the driver's box. A few months since hackmen were required to have the number painted on the doors of the hack. Now that these figures have to be painted anew, who pays for the damage done to the coach? The owner or the Corporation? Ten days is given to the owners to have the figures painted, and if not done in that time the law is to be enforced.
